Default Any major concerns 2000-06?

I'm finally starting to realize it may be time for me to go the bagger route!
I like comfort,I can tell because I spend way to much time in my recliner.
I'm over 60,6'1" and around 185-195. Road king or Electra glide, the most comfortable I can find at the best price! Are there any major concerns between 2000 and 2006?

Early 2000 had problematic cam bearings. All 2000-06 models have the spring cam tensioners which need to be checked at around 20-25k miles. Best to replace with the hydraulic tensioner kit or gear drive if crank is within spec. Some folks don't like the MM EFI on the 00-02 models. They now have Delphi. Or you can get a carb model in those years. 06 had better flowing heads than the earlier years. 05's had some valve problems that led to oil issues. 00-02 had forged cranks and timken main bearing both which are better than the cast cranks and shitty bearing in the 03 and up.

Having said all that, grab a stock 02 with low miles, do the hydraulic tensioner/oil pump upgrade kit, and throw on a set of 06 heads.

I used to buy a new Bagger every couple of years,98', 01',03',05, you get the idea. The last one was a Roady with FI and all the bells and whistles. My first was an 84'. Of all the bikes I have had the pleasure to own the 01' FLHT was by far, in my opinion, the best. I had the misfortune of hitting a car with it in 03', it was a total loss, even the engine cases were broken. I bought a used 01' this past summer and it has proven to be as good a bike as the first and still runs strong with lots of life left at 60K miles. The best part it cost well under $7K.

...also...anything 96 inch or later runs HOT AS HELL...although if you are comming off an EVO engine, you will think ANY Twin-Cam is hot compared to your old bike...good luck.

Hmm...what's a 2004 Ultra, with Cam gears, true duals, auto-adjust primary chain, easy clutch and lots of other extras worth?
