This. I didn't used to worry about it, but them I got some pistriping done and now I am super paranoid about it.

Yeah, this.

Also, I get about a 1/2 gallon extra in the SG because I always put it up on the E-Z Up when I get gas.

I personally go to the local Chevron station which allows great control of the flow of gas and don't have much problem with spillage. However the MOCO sells a tank funnel for $20, supposed to eliminate spills and splash. part# 99894-09. I can not speak personally to how they work, but I know I would rather pay $20 than continuously get fuel on my tank.

Just pull back on the collar and it'll work.
I only put about an inch of the nozzle inside the tank and have no problems.
