Sorry about your misfortune. I have been following your thread about your cracked lid. Do you think it was due to not drilling out the holes big enough before installing the hinges?
Yep, there goes another 50 bucks, another project, ok right after I finish with the Hog Walk........Its a sidewalk from the carport to the shed where the hog is wintering, I am figuring 40 80Lb bags of quickrete pouring a walk 29 inches wide, 3.5 inches deep and 35 feet long.

?? Huh?
Why don't you estimate the amount of concrete and call a truck? Most places will estimate the concrete if you give them the dimensions you are doing.

Maybe you've already taken the 29" into consideration but that sure doesn't leave much room to put your foot down if needed during that 35' run. Just occured to me that the top of your walk might be level with the ground on each side.
I learned the hard way, My tour pak lid cracked so $323.66 I have a new lid!!
I read the instructions over a few times but there is no mention of drilling the holes larger. I figured H-D knows what they are doing (Maybe they will be too loose if you drill them???) I ran the screws through as is but it was tight and I was expecting a crack at anytime. That was several weeks ago and I've been nervous ever since - Will it crack when it warms up in the sun? Will it crack with vibration? What if it twists a little when I open it wrong? Etc, etc, etc....
I can't take it anymore. In order to sleep better at night I'm going to take them off and drill the holes larger.
I don't have the installation instructions anymore, but I am sure it says something to the effect of drilling out the holes when it mentions the 3/16" bit.
