The problem isn't so much the cold, but snow and ice on the road. If the roads are clear, I'll still ride, but once they start spreading salt on the road I'm done until spring rains wash it off.

Default Salt

Know what you are saying. When I was a kid growing up in WV I had a 52 Studebaker given too me because in 63 all 4 fenders were rusting off from the salt. It seldom snows here on the coast but they actually spray liquid salt brine around here at the least hint of snow. I figure its going to trash my cars so why worry about the bike. Hey maybe the wife will fill sorry for me and buy me a new one if its rusty.

Yesterday was a great day for a ride, for sure. It was a little chilly, that only enhances the ride. No hot legs, your motor makes more power, what could be better? I did have to dig out a helmet with ear flaps, though.

We're supposed to get 3"-4" of snow here tonight. I guess if I want to ride, I should get to ride my snowblower tonight.

Right after Christmas, I'll begin installing my 4" Rineharts and all the other goodies I get for Christmas. I'll fire up the Ultra in the garage once the Rineys are on.
