Just wondering what you have? Im 5'10". The stock black shield is so cool looking. It's a shame the wind smacks me in the forehead while I'm riding. Wish there was something with good wind protection that retains the cool factor.

I'm 5'9" & I had a National Cycle V-Stream 7.25" smoked screen. It worked great except that it was about an inch too high for my liking. I still have it & I'd like to sell it. If you're interested PM me. I think I put less than 100 miles on it. Still looks brand new.
To answer your question I have a National Cycle Wave on now.

I'm 6'3'' and have a 10'' Freedom Shield. It's dark smoke in color and and it's a recurve design. It's perfect for me, although the "cool" factor of the small 4'' windshield goes away with the higher windshields. However, somewhere along the way, the "cool" factor tends to give way to "function". Anyway, Freedom Shields has different heights and shades of gray. The best thing is that if you don't like it, you can send back!! $98 delivered to your door. freedomshields.com

I've tried a bunch of shields. Stock, 6" Klock Werks, 6" and 8" Wind Vest, SE Ultra shield, I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam...
The only shields that worked for me were the SE Ultra shield, 9-ish inches, and the 8" Wind Vest.
Then I added some fork wind deflectors I found on eBay. I can run any shield and it's tolerable. Even the stock shield (but it's harder to hear the stereo on the freeway). The secret is stopping some of the upward flow of air under the fairing that causes buffeting.
I think the ideal shield for me will be the Klock Werks 8.5", but I have yet to want to spend the $$$. I like the additional stability the KW shield provides.
