Windshield height suggestion from Clearview Shields
Hi Jeffrey - just from our experience, I'd estimate our 8" recurve shield would be perfect for you.
When picking the height, we recommend that you sit on the bike in a normal riding position - have a friend hold a ruler against the shield from the fairing intersection up - look at a reference point 50' in front of you on the ground and try to gauge at what height your eyes intersect with the ruler. Then, pick a shield 1- 1 1/2" shorter than that measurement. With our recurve, you'll be able to safely see over the shield while getting the wind protection you need.
Hope that helps. If I can help further, please let me know
Merry Christmas to all -

I've tried 4 different aftermarket shields on my 2010 SG. I started out with a 6.5 inch Clearview Black with recurve. EXCELLENT protection, HUGE improvement over stock and I just happen to be 5' 10". IMO there is no better looking shield out there BUT I didn't like not being about to see THRU the shield during slow speed maneuvers(I may go BACK to it..)
I next went to a 7 inch Memphis Shades gradient black which did an excellent job but fit/finish was WAY off of the Clearview....so off it went.
Next up was the H-D Wind-Splitter...nice shield but definite downgrade in protection. This one was a real disappointment..
FINALLY back to a smoke 6.5 inch Clearview with recurve. It doesn't look at good as the black imo but does a GREAT job and I can see THRU it when necessary...
