Default Wild 1 wo518 install

I'm about to order the Wild 1 WO518 bars for my '08 RKC W/ABS and hope someone can tell me if there's something else that should be done at the same time. I'm not going to do the swap myself. . .no time. Also, will the stock cables work with the 518s or do I need new? If I need new, then I'll move to stainless cables. Is there a better (price & quality) source than the dealer for them?

Thanks!

I don't think you'll have to buy new cables. When mine were installed they told me I didn't have to have new ones but I went ahead and bought stainless. I went with the diamond backs from HD but I think the magnums are supposed to look better.

You do not have to replace cables.

ultraherbie the white RKC has the 518's, the black the 508's. Not a great angle of pic but hopefully you get the idea.

Thanks for the info. ordered the bars last night. How difficult would the install be if i tried it myself? Otherwise, what should i expect to pay an indy? I'd hate to start this project in my garage, get alfway through it and not be able to finish because i run out of time or technical ability. I'm only home on the weekends and don't want to spend the time wrenching.

My RK has WO518's, love them :-)
You will need extensions for the wiring but stock cables fit..just!
The other thing you must change is the handlebar clamp, the stock HD one is not considered strong enough
