You should have no problem changing your bars without having to extend anything . I had a couple extra inches of wiring inside the headlight bucket which I used when I put them on , and the brake and clutch line have no stress on them at all .

The bars I used are the Kromewerks 300210 Bobber style ape . I went with the bobber because of the very minimal wrist angle . My hand would get numb after a bit of riding and these bars helped a lot .

I'm becoming very interested in doing a bar job on my 14. Post some finished pics? Please? How tall are those? I measured my stockers, and they appear to be about 12"?

Changing out your bars is a very simple job , you just have to take your time . Don't rush . that's when mistakes are made ! The bars I have on the bike now are 10" Bobber bars from Kromewerks . This was a pretty basic install and I didn't have to change out any wiring or cables . This winter I'm going to be putting the 14" 1 1/4" bars on it with internal wiring . I was having problems with my wrists/hands going numb and cured it by using the bobber bars , they have less pull back than the stock ones do .

It has a Stage 1 with Cobra Speedster Duals, K&N air filter, and microtuner from Fuel Moto. I had an Arlen Ness Big Sucker on for a while but it stuck out too far. I probably won’t do anything else performance-wise since it runs great as is.

Everything else done to it has been primarily for comfort and secondarily for looks - Klock Werks 16” windshield, fork fangs, highway pegs, footboard extensions and inserts, extended brake pedal, Mustang seat, mid-frame heat deflectors, chrome passenger footboard covers. I’m sure I am forgetting a few things.

I keep thinking I am done but then see something here or elsewhere that gets me thinking. Currently considering heated grips for those cooler mornings. I have heated gloves and jacket liner but it would be nice not to mess with the wires when it is not too cold or for shorter rides.
