Superdog - I've only had it since last spring so I haven't really completed everything I wanted to get done . I really wanted a Road King Standard but this Classic came up for sale , and with only 12000 Km on it , I couldn't pass it up . I'm a chrome junkie , couldn't help myself .
The very first thing I did was add the stage 1 , put a set of V&H true duel headers on with a Arlen Ness air cleaner , had a set of cvo mufflers , so I decided to gut the stock baffles and put in a set of crusher mellows , gives the bike a nice deep rumble and a good bark . My plan is to add a breather kit this winter to the air cleaner to divert the Cr** out of the throttle body . I'm currently running a V&H FP3 , that with the help of the guys at V&H they got it dialed in just right . She runs nice and has a lot of " GO " .
I sold the spoked rims and leather saddle bags , got a great deal on the rims and found a set of hard bags off a 13 SG and painted them to match . While the rims were off , I polished the forks and rotors and rims as well . I modified the rear end so the license plate was below the signal light bar , at the time I changed the bar to narrow one from HD , looks much better than the wide one that came stock . I also put a set of fillers on to hide the gap between the bags and fender .
I've got a set of 10" bars on it now but have a set of 1 1/4" 12" Kromewerks bobber bars that I plan to put on it when I get the rest of the parts I need to finish it , Braided cables etc .
I picked up a SE compensator but haven't put it in yet , maybe this winter . As I understand the 10 had a weak comp , but with such low miles on it , no need to change it yet .
Also have a set of Andrews 48H cams that I plan on putting in as well , as soon as I gather enough info on all the right steps I need to get the job done right . Another winter project .
I've put almost 20,000 km on it since I bought it and love it more every time I ride it . I don't think it will ever be done , the list is long and I have to pick and choose wisely , but I do know it will be my last , I plan on keeping this one until I can't ride any longer .
Congrats on the new bike ! Love that look , especially the pic of it in the rain , I'd frame that one to remember the first ride taking it home . Enjoy , and ride safe !!
