Got back late Wednesday from the 3rd Dealer to try to get some help. This one was the worst. They said my Dyna was nice and smooth. I cant believe they came right out and said that after all the years I have with Harley's. I said so you think I should just keep the rpm up high like Dealer 2 said? He said no just the opposite, keep them as low as you can. He said to keep it in 6th at 60 mph to keep the rpm down. I said, so what do I do to go 70 or 80 mph I don't have a 7th gear. He just looked down and said well I think it's OK, and then left the room. I will give credit to Dealer 2 at least they did admit to me that it did vib a bit more but there fix to just run at high rpm all the time is unacceptable. When all is said and done Dealer 1, where I bought it from, was the most honest. This is what he told me from my old Thread

'more vibration then a sportster'...
I need to find out if this is true.
I just got off the phone with the service manager to set up my 1000 mile service. I told him my new 10 FXDC motor seems to vibrate a lot when I get up to about 3900 rpm. [I did the shim thing it didn't help] He said he has got a lot of complaints on some of the 09-10 Dyna on to much vibration. He said one guy told him on his 10 WG it's so bad his hands go numb. He thinks HD may be using a stiffer rubber in the motor mounts on the new Dyna's, so there isn't much he can do about it until HD addresses what ever the problem is. So other words he is telling me I'm stuck...
.................................................. .................................................. ..
So it looks like Dealer 1 was telling me the truth. Now with 5200 Miles on her I'm stuck with her. With out a Dealer to stand up for me to HD I'm done. I did the shave of the top of the front mount last night, didn't help. So now I will put the V&H pipes back on at least with them on I can drive it half way normal because they move the harsh vibration in the motor to a higher rpm range. But no mater what I do it still shakes and vibes more then my buddy's Dyna's do. I went and looked at Polaris bikes but they just look like jap bike's,and to much plastic. When I set on them they just don't do it for me. We have one in my group and I have drove it many times, OK bike, but it's not a Harley. But now I'm disappointed in my new Harley and I don't have any $ to make a move to a different model. Looks like my Indy was right some of the newer Dyna shake and vibrate all the time and some are smooth once underway. He said it looks like I got stuck with a shaker. He said it won't hurt the motor but I ether have to live with it or sell it.
Thanks to every one that has given me advice, I appreciate it.

Back to today.
When this last Summer started I was so happy with my first new BT 2010 FXDC. For the first 5 or 600 miles I loved it, it did everything I wanted it to do and it was great. Then I started to run the rpm up and the very first time I got up close to 3900 rpm it went in to a harsh vibration, it did it every time in all 6 gears at the same rpm. I spent the rest of the year trying to fix it. About 4 weeks ago I decided it was time to move on. My Wife, God bless her, wanted me to be happy with my bike. We decided together to spend more $ so I could get a new bike. I came very very close to buying a Polaris Victory Vegas, comes with a 106 CI motor. I stated dealing on them and got a good deal on a 11 red Vegas. I drove them and spent a lot of time just setting on them, but nothing would happen, no matter what, I just don't feel any thing when I'm on them, just a dead feeling. So it was back to Harley the only bikes I get that feeling when just setting on them. I have always had a thing for the Fat Boy but I need bags and for long rides a windshield. If I add that to a FB it would cost about the same as a Road King. So today after about 10 days of dealing I traded my 10 FXDC in on a 11 King with cruise. All the papers work is done and the bike is paid for. They will deliver it to my home this Wednesday. As for my new King the only thing I don't care for is the looks of the big windshield. Before Spring gets here I will look in to my options for a small shield, I only use them for long rides and all I need is to keep the wind of my chest. One thing that was cool is when I test drove the bike before I paid for it was how easy it was to handle at slow speeds, it looks so big yet it seem to handle well. Looking forward to talking with all of you on this Touring Forum and learning new things about Touring bikes... A special thank you to "harleytuner" for his help and advice.

Kinda sucks that the dealers you visited would not help you. I don't know if I would have given up on a 1 yr old bike that quick but I'm sure you'll be a lot happier on the Road King. That's what I wanted to get but my wife saw that couch on the back of the Ultra and she had to have it. Who was I to argue.
Good Luck with this one.

Welcome Gary, I'm sure you'll love your new Road king, and after seeing how sweet your Dyna looked, I'm sure you'll be getting more for it than the windshield. The offer stands for you and the wife to come down this summer and stay with my wife and me for a few days, we'll show you around and take you guys on some great rides.

Congrats on the new bike. I owned two Dynas before buying the ElectraGlide. Dynas are great bikes and I will own another one someday but I love my touring bike. My plan is to have a Dyna as a second bike (wife is not convinced yet and the economic situation does not warrant it) but someday I will have the best that both have to offer.
Enjoy the Road King. In my opinion, you made a smart choice not to buy the Victory.
