Default Quick Question- Stock Windshield Height on EGUC

Decided today that I want a shorter/darker windshield on my bike and I'm at work so I can't go out and measure it. From my searches, it appears that the stocker is 12" tall. I'm 5'10", going to buy one online in the next few minutes if I can get an answer or two.
Thanks

That's kinda what I'm thinking as well. Just don't know if a seven or eight will be better for me.

5'11", I changed my stock 12" for the smoked 9" windshield. That got the edge of the windshield out of my normal line of site. You get a little more buffeting (minimal) but the annoyance is gone...

I am also 5'10" and did not like looking through the stock windshield either.

Went to the next shorter size, which is about 9" or so.

Much better. I am now easily looking over the windshield and do not get any significant buffeting.

Don't read too much into the height of other riders. It's not as helpful as you might think. Several factors need to be considered. Height when seated in the saddle is the only height that really matters. Like me, for instance, I'm only 5'11" tall, but I'm very tall when sitting in the saddle because I'm long-waisted with relatively short legs. I sit much taller in the saddle than some people who are also 5'11" tall.

Also, what seat are you running? I have different seats for my Street Glide, and they are different heights. When I change seats I also change windshields to match the seat.

Handlebars and the length of your arms also have an impact on how tall you sit in the saddle. You will sit taller if you are bolt upright than if you are leaning forward or backward. Lots of things to consider. First get your seat and handlebars right where you want them. Then and only then will you know what size windshield to get.

Bottom line - you need to measure for yourself exactly how much shorter you want your stock 12" windshield to be. Just subtract that amount and there you go.

I am 5'8 and I went to a 9" ws from the stock 12", but first I took a grease pencil and measured up from the top of the fairing and marked a line at 9" all the way across the ws.This was to give me a visable sight line as to how tall a 9" ws would be. It allowed me to see if the ws was short enough to allow me to look over it. I didn't just sit on the bike and visualize, I rode it so I would know for sure where the ws height would actually be. Once I knew for sure I cut the ws down. After a month I bought a CeeBailey 9" ws.
