tires

I know mine is a UC but I've got 11k on my tires and still have more to go before I have to replace them. I check the air pressure every week and I believe that has helped eliminate issues associated with MC tire cupping. I have owned Street bikes for 35+ years and these are the best stock tires I have ever seen on a motorcycle.

I've got a 2010 FLHX with 3000 miles on it and I've noticed some cupping on the rear tire as well. There's nothing wrong with the tire or your bike. For whatever reason, that tire compound on these bikes cause the tires to wear funny. I've seen this happen time and time again with vehicles too. My wife has a Lexus IS350, and the car handles like its on fricken rails, and it stops on a dime. But, because Lexus has such aggresive camber gain built into the geometry, it eats fronts tires and goes through front pads quickly. The manufactures redesign chassis and suspension geometry's all the time that make the vehicles handle alot better, but sometimes not without adverse effects on the tires. This is just like one of those situations, the new bikes handle way better than old chassis but, they're gonna go through tires a little sooner. Air pressure and riding style can prolong this.
