Default Anybody had windshield grommet damage?

Please tell me I'm not the only one...nothing found in searching this forum. A few hasty installs of my FLHR windshield has damaged the plastic/rubber grommets that the upper mounts connect to. I can't seem to find a new part number or any replacement advice? Thanks in advance...

I am sure those grommets can be replaced. If I recall correctly, they are actually listed as an inspectable item in the service manual.

Windshield bushing # 67621-94 Expensive little buggers. I bought eight of them to mount my shields to homemade brackets on the wall when not in use and for inside my trailer. Somewhere around $50.00

Just rotate 'em 180 degrees and use the undamaged side.

Yah it happens and they are available at any Harley dealer. Try squeezing the windshield slightly when installing it. This causes it to bow a little so the mounting brackets tilt inward and line up better with the slots in the grommets. Once I figured this out I haven't ruined anymore. Like xxxflhrci said, just rotate them 180 degrees so the damaged part is facing away and you can get more use out of them. I always keep a few extras in the parts cabnet just in case.

Just called the stealership and confirmed they are easy to come by, for about $5.00 each. Thanks again for the tips and ideas.
