Will slip-ons give me the sound or should I true dual???
Right now on my 2000 RKC (tc88) I have stock headers with V&H Basic slip-ons and SE air. Not too bad for sound but I am looking more for that genuine, sought after harley sound - louder and deeper. Can I get that from changing the slip-ons or do I need to add true duals like V&H dressers?

Is there a real big difference between the true duals, dresser duals or 2 into 1 with a good pair of slip ons?
I do want loud but don't want to sacrifice a great deal of performance to get it. A couple hp/tq here or there really won't make a big difference. Not racing it, just running it hard if you know what I mean

After adding V&H Duals using the same mufflers, I noticed a good bit more noise. Matter of fact, I found it much louder at interstate speeds and was glad the lollipop baffles I put in for adding some back pressure quietened it some. However, I really didn't think the idle sounded much different.
