I have them and like them a lot. I've had Kury before and it was not a great feel in my hands, even though I have large hands. The feel was just not there. I started with the Avon's on my Sporty and immediately liked what they offered. I then ended up changing my PM Renthal grips on my UC to the Avon grips. The feel is pretty damn perfect for me.

I don't have anything on my bike made by Kuryakyn
Avon grips are made of Kraton http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraton_(polymer)
Avon also make Motorcycle tires
Avon looks and quality are better than Khury IsoGrips
In the past my IsoGrips developed a crack in the rubber in less than 2 years

They were making golf club grips for years--some of the best in the business. The owner rides, and wanted his own bike stuff, so they started trying it out.
Great quality product, at a very reasonable price.
Call 'em--they'll talk to you about them.

Have them on my SG and hate them!
However my reasoning is due to the WO577 bars I have installed. The Avon's are soft rubber grips, in other words (the left grip) has no internal sleeve. This causes a problem with fat bars due to the limited length of the 1" portion of the bar; you can not adjust the controls past the 1" portion. If the grips are longer than this portion you have a floppy grip end. On the Avon's the floppy portion is about an inch!
Also my son in law has these on his dyna, I really liked them when he put them on (he didn't have the floppy end issue), but after a year of riding the knurled rubber wore and quickly became smooth and flat, so much for that comfy good looking grip.

I have a set of Avon grips on my new Wild 1 bars.
THEY DO NOT FIT CORRECTLY AND I WILL BE CHANGING THEM.
I emailed the company several times. This was the last response I received from the . . .
Unless you have a step down handlebars you can move the throttle housing .25" & clutch side to match up the grip. Our grips are for 1" bars only. You can call us at 800-334-7477 to talk to one of our technicians.
The issue is that the throttle side grip is not as deep as the stock grip. This leaves a 1/4 inch space showing where the bar steps up from 1". This is the reason that they state their grips are for 1" bars only.
Here's some pics . . .
