No comparison, the heated grips are always there ready to go. You have to plan ahead with the gloves. For me is the grips all the way.

As mentioned, heated grips warm the palms of your hand, which is fine in milder climates. I can usually dress my body warm enough for temps in the 30's and 40's, but it's my hands that get cold. Gerbings gloves warm your entire hand.

Gloves. The top part of your hand is what is open to the wind/cold, not your palm.

Never heard of heated grips only keeping your palms warm. Maybe they keep your palms warmer, but I rode snowmobiles a lot of years below zero temps and no problems keeping my hands warm with heated grips.

a personal opinion question for sure, I installed
HD heated grips (soldered connections not HD pushpins)
and have had great luck and I use them more than I ever
thought that I would. you will get folks who like the HD
heated, (me) and others like the 'heat demons' and they
are great also I am sure.

I agonized over this question for several years. I even bought a set of heated gloves, but I didn't like all the wires and sent them back. Heated grips are more expensive, and the first installation failed pretty quick. Under warranty (6 months) they were replaced by the newer version and I haven't had any problems so far.

I like that they are there when I want them, no external wires to plug into. I acknowledge my fingertips still get cold, but I think they would be even colder without the heat being applied to the palms of my hands. I really like the heated grips.

I bought some very good winter gloves which I'm sure also help keep the cold from the rest of my hand. So far, so good.

I like the grips I have had them on my last two bikes with no problems at about 40 my thumbs tend to get a little cold.. But this is a personal choice I don't like wearing gloves at any time work or riding I'm sure they would be warmer but I don't like the feel of a glove plus the grips are always ready to go and always hooked up

I can still feel the heat through my heaviest
winter gloves also, and yes, no wires to deal
with..............

Recently installed the Oxford Heaterz heated grips. It's an easy install and everything is in the kit. They work really well but you still need insulated/waterproof gloves in the colder weather. If you have a heated liner to plug them into, get the Gerbing T5 gloves, otherwise get heated grips.
