Heated grips vs Heated Gloves

I went to my local Harley Dealer to get heated grips installed. My mechanic told me not to get them because they are expensive and problematic; he strongly suggested heated gloves instead. I am a year-around rider (it's my commute bike) in Northern VA and have ridden down to 9 degrees. My gloves are the only thing I have that are heated. If you ride in the winter, suggest a Firstgear one-piece thermal suit.
Good luck,

Get the Gerbings heated gloves. I just purchased their gloves and jacket liner and they are awesome. The weather here has been cold for this area and I took a ride on the superslab with the new gloves; 90mph with temps in the high 30's and my hands were toasty warm. The jacket liner is excellent also.

I went with heated liners........they keep my entire hand warm down into the 20s......and they are substantially cheaper than grips.

nice thing about heated grips, is they are always there....
nice thing about the Gerbings (or warm N safe, or first gear, etc) is they warm your whole hand.
I throw my "spare set into a saddlebage, in mid autumn, and leave them in the bag til spring.I have the Gerbings gloves, jacket liner, and unon ridge pants.... am I "tethered " to the bike??? I suppose, but the barrel connector will just slide out, if I step off the bike
