Default 2 into 1 exhaust 1998 Roadking

I’m posting this for a friend of mine who doesn’t know how to turn on a computer but boy can he ride. He has a 1998 RoadKing (over 100,000 miles on it) and for the last several years he has been running Hooker 2 into1 exhaust. Well, it’s time for a new exhaust system, the Hooker system wore out and he has been having problems with the packing in the muffler for a long time. He was ready to replace the system at Daytona next March but he needs to replace it now. I read someplace that Hooker no longer make bike exhaust systems, so replacement is out of the question.

He likes the sound loud but not over bearing and he wants to keep the 2 into 1 setup. I’ve gone on YouTube and listened to several exhausts (Thuderheaders, BUB…) but the sound varies depending on the camera placement and quality of the video. He’s coming over the house this weekend so he can listen to the YouTube videos and make up his own mind.

What seems to be the most popular brand? From what I could tell from YouTube the Vance & Hines seem to be not loud enough. Any help would be great.

Thanks

You didnt mention what kind of build if any in his motor, but D&D,Bassani and thunderheader will all provide loud and are all pretty popular here.

+1 with wild hog I'd look at Bassani and D&D for sure.

I have SuperTrapp SuperMegs, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat! Why? #1, it was top-rated in a pipe shootout some years back. #2, it is tunable. #3, it has the option of closed (q-u-i-e-t) or open (BARKBARKBARK!) endcap configuration. It's also the choice of some custom bike builders, and if I can't afford their $70K choppers, at least I can have the same quality exhaust.
