Do a google for speedo recalibration. There are places that can reset the mileage to whatever you want.

I'd start with "what model year bike did the 6 "new" guages come off of." If they are compatible the easiest/cheapest and probably only way to get them to match the mileage on the bike is wait 3,000 miles. You're only temporarily going to be missing 2 guages and one of them is the air temp guage.

While your waiting those 3,000 miles I'd search for a silver faced oil temp guage that matches your $125 find. The air temp guage isn't worth wasting the effort to install.

Shore,

Check the part number on the back of the gauges to the part number in the HD Catalog...If they are 08 or later, the Speedo and Tach will work, but the low fuel light will be on when the tank is full and then go out while you are riding...the ABS light on the tach will be on all the time and will not go out, and the fuel guage will not work properly either....(ask me how I know...been down that road) If you do a search, there were several threads on this a couple years ago when the changeover was taking place. If I find it, will link if for you.

I also looked at getting the mileage fixed...Found it was cost prohibitive, and you would be better off waiting till the mileage matches to do the swap.

Hope this helps..

Here is a link to an older thread dealing with some of the issues...https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...abs-light.html

with only 3k difference, I'd just put the miles on the bike before installing the speedo.

Lol, the gauges only have 4011 miles. Close enough. Mine has 3400.

They all work fine......except for the air temp gauge. I guess I need to find a temp sensor.

Where does that little temp sensor plug into? I'm thinking it is the blue/black wire harness right under the gauge harness. It's a 1-piece dual input harness.

yes, I had to make some brackets to hold the 2 new gauges in place.

If anyone has one of these little air temp sensors, I'd be happy to take it off their hands.

When the air temp guage does work it will give you an accurate temp inside the fairing??? Which is great if you are riding inside the fairing. LOL. Give some thought to extending the sensor wiring and locate the sensor outside the fairing for a more accurate temp. Anybody know if extending the sensor wiring effects the accuracy of the guage???

Oh yes, it's going to a different location. I just have to get the sensor.
