It has always been (and always will be) a “kick stand” to stand to me.
I had never heard of this jiffy stand business until I joined this forum.

That just proves you have never read the owners manual or service manual for any Harley-Davidson made in the last 80 years or so.

Hey, it is cold out here and most of us need some further distraction until the sun comes out.
I use that Harley spray lube that I think is just rebranded WD40

Default Lube

Why does someone lube a jiffy stand. Just helps grab dirt and you can rest assured if you use the stand especial on concrete that the end will wear thin long before the pivot area wears. Mine is about knife edge thin now and it's the second one.
There's the rice burner expression again. EEEEEE--- They are bikers too. . Just noticed it's stopped raining, sunny, 63 degrees and the Rapture (guy lives up the street) just shook my house goood (that would be a ride). Time to go grind the jiffy stand a few more times....

Short story about needless lube...took my bike in for a 30K (I think) service...Indy.
I always jkeep a twenty dolar bill under my gas cap....for emergency beer or gas.
Anyhow, I go to pick up my bike after the service, and the Mechanic asks me if I was 'testing them." I says "Pardon?" And he hands me a twenty dollar bill. Says he found it under my gas lid. Found it while he was lubing my gas lid hinge (one of the steps in the 30K service). I told him "No. that is just where I keep spare money."
End of story was....he could have skipped that part of the service and who would have known? Lube a gas cap hinge...why bother!!? Anyhow, he got my attention, that:
#1. He DID IT.
#2. He didn't steal my TWENTY.

So lubing a Jiffy stand....not so far fetched.
