it's been a kickstand ever since my first Schwinn had one in the early 60s. Screw what HD and wikipedia says. However, I guess it could be useful in helping to recognize the dorks.

I think it's only called a jiffy stand in the manual. The world refers to it as a kickstand. Must of been some candy *** who wrote the manual

My bike came with a kick stand, what's a manual? I assume it's called that due to the fact it can be deployed quickly or in a jiffy. Jiffy is an informal term for any unspecified short period of time, just sayin'.
