Default Chrome Inner Fairing Trim Kit

I am very particular what I put on my HD. While I have alot of ideas, I like the look of my 09 FLHT right out the box. I dont want to over due the chrome and add stuff that I will regret later... thinking it was "Too Much" So in short, I want to break up any dead spots. The inner fairing is where I am concentrating right now. Its just alot of black and a black hole to me. I was thinking about the Chrome Inner Fairing Trim Kit, 96396-09. I think it would add a nice touch but cant tell from the pics on the website.

How put them on?
Do you dig it?
Happy with it?

Thanks for your input.

I have the trim kit on my 08 along with the Hogtunes tweeter Pod with chrome trim. Love the look. Attaching a picture for you.

I just bought the instrument rings only, and they came wit 2 sided tape which I promptly tossed in the trash. I used 3 small dabs of silicone instead.

I had the same black hole impression as you, and the rings are a nice touch. Very happy with mine.

Silicone works better than the tape, just use it sparingly so it doesn't squeeze out.

Basic trim:

I have the one around the radio too, and to tell you the truth O could have done without it. Can't find a picture of it.

As mentioned, the kit comes with double-sided tape to hold the rings. These are the instructions for the kit from the link you posted:

Have you filled the two empty 2" gauge holes and the radio slot on your FLHT?

Personally, I've never cared for the big hunk of chrome surrounding the bottom two gauges and the radio, but that's just me.

Have you considered saving the money you'd spend on the chrome trim and having the inner fairing painted? Or is it already painted.

The painted inner is a lot of cosmetic bang for the buck. Like most here, I, too, am particular about what I put on my bike.

My Street Glide came with the stereo trim and the speaker trim. I think it goes well with the gauges. It's an easy mod to clean up the fairing and make it look a little different.

The control covers painted to match the fairing looks nice. Good job.

Carl, The inner fairing is not painted... it is stock. I am good with it the way it is just alot of black and not much to break it up. Hell, I have enough scratches on my bike because black shows everything, I dont need more.
