MadMaps - I love this app too. Not free and you have to purchase additional maps, BUT if you want some good mappings of some great rides through some excellent scenery and sites to see, this is not a bad gig.

Greatest Road is pretty good. It locates you and then shows all the rides in the area you are currently located. You can add rides too for others to take.

Weather Channel App is outstanding, long range forecast surprisingly good, considering it's long range. For the current day I'd say definitely rely on it's Radar function rather than the hour by hour forecast (seems to be a sampling of a real large area) hour by hour temps might be accurate but ignoring percent chance of rain and using the animated 4 hours future radar pattern is extremely valuable.I have rarely been mislead by it.

I continually check it at rest stops along the way when the weather's suspect

Smile XGPS-Drive

Turn by turn directions that are perfect. it fades your music (or Pandora) and talks you through. I put it on "Avoid freeways" and I put one earpiece in my pocket and it takes me where I want to go by way of country highways. Very cheap too.

I used: Motion-X on my trip to Sturgis.

It is a GPS tracking/mapping app that will generate a map of where you have been. I emailed the daily maps to myself and compiled them into a log once I returned home.

Not to steal the post, but has anyone found a mount for my new IPAD?

Maybe someting to mount to the w/s?

Seriously, the NASA app is one of my favorites. We like to watch the Intl. Space Station go overhead at night, when possible, and with the IPhone we can also watch it on the map screen. It's amazing how far away you can start to see it, and other goodies, coming and and how far you can see it going. Awesome.
