Default Mounting Pre-09 Road King Classic Bags?

I have a 2010 Street Glide that I want to mount the old frame style Road King Classic leather bags to. I already found that they will not fit the new style support. Has anyone found a clean way to mount the old style bags?

Thanks,

Eric

Can you explain why they won't fit. All of the hard bags are the same, old frame or new, so I would think they should fit since many on here have switched from leather to hard bags, other than that sorry I can't help any more.

The Saddlebag Supports for the 2010 FLHX loop up in the back and include the back Zeus fitting for the hard bags. It loops up right where there is a protusion on the back of the Road King bags. The Zeus fittings won't line up with the Road King bags either no matter how I adjust the front bracket.

And I thought not having a lowering kit available because of the Classic saddlebags was the worst problem.

Thanks for the info, I looked at some 09 FLHX mounts on Ebay & it looks like the bar that runs up to the fastener must hit the molded part of the RKC bag. The only thing I can think of is to get the saddlebag mounts from a RKC or try to trim the leather bags. If it is the molded plastic on the back side of the bag you might be able to mark where it's hitting & use something to heat that portion & reshape it slightly. A heat gun & or a hot piece of tubing to indent that area, good luck. Hopefully some else may have an easier way, but most on here have gone the other way, wanting to have the security of locking bags.

I had the same problem with 2006 RoadKing Custom bags - trying to fit them to my '10 RK
