I had this problem with my RF1000. I always wear ear plugs, so noise is not too much of an issue. But the blurred vision is.

I've gone through 4 windshields, adjustable fairing deflectors, the ashtray between the forks, etc. Nothing got rid of the buffeting, until I added the fork wind deflectors. I can even ride with the stock 4" shield now without issue:
