I am making our demo bike for CES and was wondering about weight in the saddlebags and what effect about 70 pounds total would have on the ride of the bike.

Now the weight is even on both sides of the bike.

If you can keep the bag mounts and hardware togeather I dont think the weight will have an adverse efect on handling riding solo. If you can keep the big girls away you shouldn't have a problem bar hopping.

well there goes my ideas........sheeshhh............
what are you going to do with the charging system for those amps? what gauge wire for them?
I was thinking of mounting a 12inch in the tourpack just for kick when a car pulls up next to me with the tin can sound going on. just to burp that sub would be FUN.. I would love to see the looks you would get with that setup

never mind just went and looked at the link dammmmmmmmmmmmm

I think tour packs are suppose to hold up to 25 lbs.

The charging system has been upgraded but the uses of full range D class amp helps allot in the case, there is only 800 watts being used on this bike. and since the top end is a horn system the real amount of power being used is only 600 watts...

If you look at this pic you can see I have moded to battery rack to hold better batterys.

Honestly I don't think 35 lbs a side in the saddlebags will have much effect. If you keep the bulk of the mass as low as possible, the CG shouldn't be effected too much. If it still has the factory air shocks, then just add about 10-15 psi for the extra weight. If all that weight were going into the tourpak, it would be a different story. Even then, the weight would just make it feel top heavy at slow speeds. The following pic is two up and loaded down. I'm sure between all the tools I carry and luggage and gear, that there was well over 100 lbs total just in the bags and tourpak. Add the wife and I and we're well over GVWR. The bike doesn't care, that's what it was made for.

Just another opinion. I have hauled some serious loads in my roadkings over the years---Tools from work to home alot--And I mean alot of tools...Im sure I have hauled that much weight MANY times. Never had any problems. I flexed the saddlebags stuffed with tools & leathers so much that I cracked the upper mounts--I might be concerned with the fiberglass breaking before Ide worry about the weight. You might need to adjust your air pressure up in the rear and thats all I can think off. Just another opinion. Have a great day. Oh, those mods look pretty good..you outta make some noise.

You could of saved a lot of time and effort if you would have gotten them a hearing aid, With that much power you would need a P A system to explain to them how that system works, or do they read braile ?????
