Default FLTR Wind Deflector Kit

The FLTR Wind Deflector Kit looks like it would help keep the cold air from coming up from under the fairing on the Roadglides. However Harley says;
Fits '09-later FLTR and FLTRU models. (Will not fit models equipped with the Fuel Tank retrofit mounting kit.)

I've got an 09 and I guess I have the Fuel Tank retrofit mounting kit installed. Is this something a Dremal tool will take care of?

Has anybody tried this kit and do the wind deflectors help?
Thanks

Yes, these will fit. Might require a slight modification though.

Have 'em on my '11, but I guess I'd have to take them off and put them back on a couple of times to see if I REALLY notice any difference. Off the cuff, I'd say not much difference.

the lower triple tree wind deflectors work well with them also.

Default R.G.wind deflectors

I saw them on a 2011 R.G.Screamin' Eagle. The owner swears by them. They will fit your ride. If the retro fit is in the way take the P.O.S. off! That retro fit is about as effective as a helmet is on a kamikaze pilot. That is my opinion.

you need to take the retrofit kit off to put the deflectors on the right way.
it comes off really easy, just unbolt the two front fuel tank bolts and the retrofit kit just slides off each mounting stud.

Put the deflectors on my 06 RG. Cleans up the air no more head shaking, the glasses stay on smoothes out the ride. I still feel the air just not under the jaw. Took about 1 minute to install.
