Default Removing Caliper Bolts ....Ugh!

Ive seen lots of posts wrt the correct tools for removing calipers and pads. I am trying to remove brembo ABS calipers on 2008 FLHTCI. I'm using a 12 pt 10mm 3/8" socket and I can't seem to break em loose. Even added a 18" pipe to the drive for more leverage but it felt like I was yeilding the corners on the bolt so I stopped until I asked here. Addiing chrome calipers and need originals off for the upgrade. Any tips tricks or advise would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if they are installed with Red Loctite? 12 point bolt and socket is as good as it gets for grip. That's odd!
Normally I would suggest adding heat but you don't want to do that with the brake fluid in there if you don't have to.

Tap with a hammer whatever you're wrenching with.

Try to tighten it first. Do not move the bolt just stress it in the tightening direction then remove it.

You have to use quick power like hammering it or use impact wrench don't try any other force then that you might strip em.

Are You using a good quality socket? I found that some of the asian tools seem to fail easily ie. strip the teeth in side the socket.

Unhappy

Thansk for all the replys.....

Geesh, tried rapping with hammer at the end of the drive, using Craftsman 12 pt 10mm socket and sure I'm twisting lefty loosey, none of the 4 bolts have budged. hey Slothy I'm in Flint so maybe I'll take ya up on your offer. But now I'm thinking about heat......probably destroy the seals but I'm sending back for cores any way. Gotta get 'em off somehow.cuz I already got the new ones on the bench. Now I'm concerned if I destroy the heads it would be tough to even drill em and eazy out em. This shouldn't be so hard....

Id be careful of pulling the aluminum out of the caliper with the threads. Try putting a little heat on the end of the bolt that pokes out of the inside of the caliper, it may have a red locktite on there. The heat will melt the locktite, if you pull the threads out you will need to buy new calipers.
