Default Clutch cable comes loose

I have a 2007 Roadglide. The clutch cable keeps coming loose on the bottom end at the cover. The clutch itself is adjusted right, but slack keeps coming in the cable then it jumps off. Has anyone had the same problem and how did you fix it.

Sounds to me like your cable housing is broken. It should thread into the housing. Does the end look like the picture? That's the stock cable off my '07 Road Glide. I changed to a hydraulic clutch.

Yeah what he said, you have something broken. The cable screws into the transmission outer cover and can not come loose.

If it's screwing in and backing back out over time, you may just need a little blue locktite on the threads. If the cable casing is coming out of the cover and everything is right on the inside, that should remove any slack at the clutch lever, not add slack.

If you are saying the cable disconnects from the ball and ramp lever, you may have to double check to make sure that the clutch is adjusted correctly. If the clutch is right, you may have to remove the cover and make sure the snap ring is in place and the lever is in the correct position. If that's right, the ball and ramp mechanism may be worn out.

A loose lock nut on the cable adjuster could cause this as well.

There are some very kowledgable folks on here that will likely have other suggestions.

Default I know it's an old post

Check the reverse threaded nut in the clutch basket. That was my problem
