naw!.....i painted the nacelle to match the rest of the paintwork. looks pretty sharp...ive got a NIB chrome nacelle sitting here i originally bought for it, but i really like it when the nacelles painted to match the bike, so thats the route i went.ill likely take the chrome one back to HD redding and refund it. dont need it now.
the rear fender racks actually a el-cheapo ebay buy, $39.99 brand new shipped and delivered. its actually a sweet rack too. i looked at one just like it smetime back that was like 3x more expensive, and the quality was the same as this one. its one of those things ill be taking it off from time to time to stick a pillion on there for passenger carry at the local events, ect ( im a patch holder for State Of Jefferson Brotherhood M/C here in norcal so we hit alot of different events,ect)...one thing you have to watch though when your buying stuff off ebay is fitment.
actually those spots on the ground are water!.....BAWHAHAH!...i rinsed the bike off earlier before i took the picture and then pulled it it up on the slab to take a pik before i shoved it in the shop.
didnt really take that long to do the paintwork. 2 days prep, 2 coats of house of kolor black epoxy primer/sealer, 2 coats of house of kolor cobalt blue kandy base coat, a couple of shots of house of kolor intercoat clear with cobalt metalflake, 3 coats of cobalt blue kandy clear , and about 8 coats of house of kolor UC35 clear, then 24 hours cure time and 3 stage cut and buff....took about 6 days total, and then on the 7th day......i put the sucker back together....no time for rest, snow was coming!
i got the sumbitch all finished and put back together just in time to push it into the shop before the snow hit, and i dont do snow!
the mustangs a 1967 K model coupe. 400hp 289,ect,ect...its original ford midnight mist blue....i like the cobalt blue kandy MUCH better!..
the mustangs a show winner ad is scheduled to be in mustangs and fast fords magazine april 2011
