Default K&N Air Breather ....Stupid ?

OK......STUPID ? here......taking off sstalling a K&N......stock had 2 rubber hoses off Breather bolts.....do I need to hook these back up when installing K&N ?

PLease excuse my ignorance

There should be nipples on the filter's backing plate.

That depends on whether you are just replacing the air filter, or putting on a whole different unit. My EVO SE (Screaming Eagle-if you aren't familiar) required the purchase of a cross over tube (included new breather bolts) that hooked via a hose to the back of the aircleaner mounting plate.

NO nipples on the backing plate........directions say nothing about hooking these back up and pic doesnt show them hooked up when installing the air filter element .
Am I just an idiot ?....WAIT dont answer that idiot question........LOL

Are there nipples on the end of the bolts that hold the backing plate?
