i'm not gonna preach about whats better, whats worse. to each his own.
SUre on paper ALOT of bikes have better technology and performance then HD..(NOT NEARLY as big a gap as there used to be... HD getting better..i mean who saw Brembo coming??)
And i'm not even gonna bother getting into the PRIDE issue..cuz it's just too damn obvious..
But i will give this advice to anyone looking into buying a cruiser that isn't made by HD....you better be ABSOLUTELY sure that it is the bike you want, for a loooooong time, when you buy it...cuz if you try to sell it or trade it in, get ready to take the beating of your life. seems to me that a 3-4 year old "Riceliner" or whatever the hell you wanna call it, sells for about HALF of the original MSRP.....
....I guess that is what going to a Japanese Bathhouse is really about

Same goes for Harley. I am seeing tons of 2-4 year old harleys selling for half of their original MSRP. That and they hardly had any miles on them were the metrics had double the miles on them.

Whgen was the last time you saw a new roadglide for 18 grand??? I looked at a new Roadglide for chits and it was over 20 grand.

But then you are only talking a 1 year old bike and the quoter in my post was talking 3 to 4 year old scoots.

But I have seen a few 08s and 07s with other then vivid black color and alot of added on options going for the 11-13 range.

Don't get me wrong, I like Harley Davidsons, especially the one I have in my garage.

I have not checked but what would the OTD price have been for an 05 Electraglide classic with security, Blackcherry paint, Stage one intake, downloader, slip ons and upgraded cams back in 05???? It was only three years old when I got it and I paid less then 13 grand.

Yeah - maybe a bit of an exageration but he's got a point. Gone are the days when you could sella used Harley for more than you paid for it. I sold my 1992 Fatboy for about $13k when it was over 9 years old! It only cost me about 11,800 if I recall.

Big difference between a 2008 and a 2009. You said 2-4 years old so I see where Mike's head was at on this one. Any time there's a major revision to a model there's going to be an impact on resale for those bikes that predate the revision. Clearly that's the case between '08 and '09.

I agree... I like seeing lots of bikes on the road. I just prefer the one I've got.

I sure wish Harley would change and offer the 103 motor stock like Kawasaki does or better yet the 113 like Yamaha...
