much appreciated Clint55. I was thinking about doing the same thing, now i think i'll still replace the tensioner but use 06B instead when i do the SE compensator upgrade

You got a box too? and instructions? I had ordered 2, one for me and one for a bud, both different models. They came in a priority mail box loose with loose hardware and no instructions. Had to get installation instructions from their website and they weren't all that good.

Seems like a good choice. If I'd realized at the time that H-D had upgraded the part in 2010 I might have suggested Clint use the newer one. Either way there's a lot of snake oil solutions out there by folk with a lot fewer test miles than Harley has on their own designs.

It's quite possible that the SOHB part works with a particular choice of oil - who knows?

I bet the manual adjuster that came on the 2001 would keep the chain adjusted better. I'd rather have a manual adjuster that was 'off a tooth' than any of the OEM self-adjusters.
