Thanks Steve! Used your write up to do my RGU yesterday. One correction I found was the pin housing. When I stopped at the dealer to get the one you listed it was the male version of the one in your picture. I found p/n 73153-96bk to be the correct one.

Yes, I also found out that the part for the pin housing should be 73153-96bk.

I also found the HD suggested screws for mounting the tri-bar light were OK and not too long. Their part number is 2995.

One other suggestion is to mount the tri-bar light on the fascia right before you fasten the fascia to the fender. Trying to attach the tri-bar light after the fascia is mounted may be harder since the tire tends to get in the way.

Appreciate the write up you did Steve, and I'm just adding my experiences with this mod. So thanks again!

Thanks for posting your experience. I went back and edited my install with the corrections.

Do you have pictures of your install?

Get ready to do this mod on my 2009 Road King.

I purchased an 2009 Street Glide lower fascia with the light in Vivid Black on E-bay last week for $50.00 + 15.00 shipping. $65.00 Total. he did not have the stud plates and nuts so it ordered them from my local HD dealer. $20.00.

So I will have a fascia that matches the paint on my bike with all the install hardware for a total of $85.00.

I pretty sure the 09 stock light doesn't have the run brake feature, but I'm on the way.

I would like to add the Street Glide turn signal bar but not sure which parts it would take.

OzoneMan, that's sweet looking. Mine will be identical except in vivid black. Ordering everything today, thanks to you, sifularson, and all the other contributors to this install. My wife spotted that before we ever bought the bike and said it HAD to have that addition on the rear fender...so who wuz I to argue??? She really wanted the Screamin' Eagle version off the StreetGlide with the tail/stop lights in the facia sides, but I fear that would be quite expensive, and would have to be painted....We'll settle for what you guys have got, looks great on all your bikes....PACO
