2011 FLHTK 103 sure sounds lame when starting.

Reminds me of an 80 model Dodge. Whats up with that?

Yeah - I know what you mean.
Mine cranks very slowly, then catches. I don't think it's the battery.

Isn't there supposed to be some kind of valve the releases the compression while starting, then closes once started??

That's due to compression releases at work...

...My 2010 limited does the same thing. Kind of lags for a few miliseconds befrore if kicks in and fires up...never realized it could be attributed to the compression release setup. It does note fire up instantly like my earlier TC 88 did...of course once it kicks in that shitty Compensator on there clunks, which is a whole other problem

Shoot mine starts pretty sweet and well the stock exhaust is kinda quite but hammer it and it sounds better

Mine starts right up and actually sounds pretty decent
