The 5 speed transmissions don't bolt up to the newer engines. You'd need the six speed transmission and primary. You'd also have to change the motor top mount, and there might be swingarm clearance issues.

I've read elsewhere that the TC96s, which the 120R WILL fit, have many changes that mean we cannot retrofit the 120R to earlier bikes. Someone with a whole pile of parts and a lot of time on their hands may be able to make something work, but it doesn't look very promising! A TC88 can be made to fit an Evo, using an adapter, but I haven't found anything that will adapt a TC96/120R, they are that different.

Go on with your 95" Binford 120/120 build! That should be lots of fun! That build starts tomorrow (or today, depending) right?
Good Luck!

you may want to check out the S&S 111--good for 110/110 at a very reasonable price and considering you can sell your existing motor the cost will be in the same range as a top end build. the S&S comes with a three year warranty.

If a 111ci doesn't rock your boat an S&S 124ci will also fit, but if that really isn't enough, and you don't mind a bit of frame surgery, they have a 145ci. Should be adequate for most needs.....
