FLHX wind turbulence
#52
I think one common denominator here is that most riders want to look "over" the windshield and not thru it (why, I do not know). I am 5'-4" and use a Reach seat. Along with a 3/4 face helmet I look thru my windshield and for me it would be impossible to see over it. Because of this I have ZERO wind turbulence because I sit in clean air as it comes off the top of the W/S and over the top of my helmet. I have no problems looking thru my W/S I can see just fine in the rain.

I've tried 5 different windshields. Stock, 6, 8, 12, & 8" Clark's Flat Top. The 12" did the best job of controlling wind, but I hate looking through a shield so I'm using only the 8" flat top. It works pretty well & I like the wide look. I tried my buddy's 2012 Road Glide Ultra last weekend & I'm sold. Change windshields all you want. The problem is the bat wing faring. Never had this issue with my Heritage.

2. HD Sundowner Seat (Street Glide Stitching), moves you lower
3. Fast Aire "Aero" Windshield (8", Dark Gray), flip handles most of the air

Must be 5,000,000 threads on this. Read them all here's what you'll need to enjoy a cigar while doing 75 mph:
1) 16" Min. shield with recurve (I use a windvest)
2) Batwing air deflectors (I bought the HD cheapos with no adjustment)
3) Lower tree fork baffle (a la Ultra stock)
4) The ultimate is a set of lowers
