I did a compete stage 1. I wanted to get rid of the catalytic converter so I changed out the head pipes also. Installed a AC and a TTS tuner.
Your bike will still run fine but it will run lean and hot until you change the tune.
Take a look at my bike to see and hear what it sounds like.

If that's all you you're going to do, you'll probably be just fine. I also have a set of the MO's on my RGU, but I also replaced the header (no damn cat) and the air filter. The HD SE flash was all it needed to accomodate those minor changes. The next change (cams) will require more aggressive fuel management. By the way, those MO's are pretty nice... quiet when cruising, bark when you hammer it. But they are definitely big.

Invest in a fuel management solution NOW!
RESEARCH it here first!!!! Please look into Fuel Moto...the touring model fuel upgrade of choice.
Good luck!

had stock head pipe with slip ons, (also heads, cams throttle body ) and put on the monster ovals with the dresser duals like you are doing and just that change alone was very nice, it ran much smoother and stopped popping, could be due to my older slipons(se touring) but the after putting on the new pipes i got a mastertune and had it dynoed. ive had 2 to 1 before and im a dual guy, the 2 to 1 had more power on dyno but not as smooth and even power band. im real happy with my new setup.
