Default Throttle question

When I bought my 10 Ultra I kept it stock for a few weeks snd then it started. I had the dealership put on Kuryakyn ISO grips and Vance and Hinds slips ons. Ever since the grips got put on it doesn't feel the same. The throttle seems like it has no pressure and if you breath on it while riding you jerk the bike forward. The smoothness just seems to be gone. At least with a Softail you could adjust the throttle and put a little pressure on it. Is there an answer to this and does anyone else get the same feeling.

Maybe it's just all that extra power from the V&H slip ons!

I wish. It just when I just crusing along and I hit a little bump in the road the over sensitive throttle makes a hugh jerking problem. It's way over sensitive.
Didn't feel this way with the stock grips.

I noticed it with my 08 RKC. Never used the stock grips so I can't compare, I had them replaced with H-D Nostalgic grips at build up. The Nostalgics are a larger diameter than stock and much more comfortable. With the EFI and electronic throttle the throttle is very quick, especially in 1st or 2nd gear. If your grips are larger diameter than stock the bump and hand turn would be moving the throttle sensors more since the grips are larger. I had the same issue when I first got the bike and realized I was tense and gripping the grips too tightly, new bike and NYC roads and all. Once I relaxed my grip I didn't have the issue again.
Perhaps the dealer can compensate for larger grips.

Sounds to me like the dealer may have put the throttle grip on with it bottoming out on the end of the handle bar. Try slacking the screws that hold everything in place and move the grip and assembly outwards. Chances are you will have to try it a couple of times until you get the location that feels right for you. Remember do no overtighten the securing screws. If I remember correctly proper torque for these screws is 10 in-lbs.

My throttle was very sensitive also. The grip sensor for TBW went bad and the dealer replaced it. When I got the bike back the throttle had more tension and wasn't nearly as sensitive. I really like it a lot better now. I never asked what they did. Same worn grips as when I brought it in.

I thought I read somewhere that you could adjust the tension a little bit to make it feel like a cable fed throttle.

I installed the new black iso grips and also noticed the throttle is very touchy. As someone mentioned when on a bumpy road it is very noticeable.I installed my own and followed instructions per watching a video. Can't really see where anything could be wrong.
