Default 10" apes, use old lines/cables???

I'm getting ready to put a set of 1.25" dia. - 10" tall apes on my RKC.
These bars are basically the same as my original bars ... just 4" taller.
I'm OK as far as wiring, and I've been told I can use all the old cables/lines will work fine with these, but am reading some confliction info.
Has anybody changed out their stock bars for 4" taller ones, and 'not' been able to use the old cables/lines?

Thanks guys ...........

Thanks guys!

Yes, I am running the wires internally (bought the connectors, pins and other hardware to do it right) and got the one piece upper bar clamp (after reading that it was advisable for bars with internal wiring) and poly riser bushings.

Funny story ......... I ordered the poly bushings from an online HD shop @ $40.
It took 3 weeks for the package to get here and when it arrived it only had one poly bushing.
Not one side (upper and lower) just one - single - bushing.
I contacted the shop via phone, and it took me quite some time to convince them that the quantity of one is for the set @ $40, not $40 for each individual bushing.
The guy said "no the quantity of issue shows as one".
When I finally said "look ... don't you think $160 for a set of riser bushings is a bit much?", he said "Hmmmm, just a minute" and when he got back on the phone he said "yup. it's about $120 too much, we had a disconnect between the computer the the guy that pulled the arts, I'll have your other 3 bushings in the mail today".
As it turned out the bushings were back ordered and it actually took 3 weeks to get them all here, so a month and a half from order to receipt.

Good thing I like to get all the parts together before I tear into a project.

Thanks again fellas,

Gary

I know you wont have to extend wiring. You may have to reposition the molex connectors.
