About a month ago I purchased a 2006 Ultra. The bike had had some cosmetic damage so some parts have been replaced with parts from other years, I'm still working on finding out exactly what. One of the things that was replaced was the radio. According to the guy I bought it from, the radio that is in the bike is a 2009 Harmon Kardon. Long story short, this radio has been acting up since about a week after I bought the bike. Some symptoms:
1) Sometimes it won't turn on
2) Sometimes its stuck on and won't turn off. Seems like when its stuck on, the two buttons (one on either side) of the ON button won't work but the rest of the radio functions like normal.
3) One time whats showed up on the display was all smashed into an area around 1/4" tall
4) Now the screen is completely blank, the radio seems totally dead.

All this happened within the last 3 weeks. The bike has been ridden 500mi or so and the only time it has seen water has been the few times I've washed it. I'm looking for advice on what to do. Does this sound like a radio problem or does it have something to do with the fact that the radio is newer than the bike? Maybe its something else completely, I'm lost...

no the radio should work wheather it old or new. a lot of problems have occured with the 09s and some of the 10s. alot of the guys hear send them out to a company thats fixes those radios for a flat price. somewhere in the $200.00 range someone will chime in here shortly and give u that name. i have had the same problem many times and finally bought a after market radio problem solved.
