Default Did I just give my bike away?

As winter approaches the northeast, reality tells me that I won't ride much the next few months.
Ok so I decide to put a feeler out there to see if I get someone interested in my bike.

As it turns out, I put the bike sale yesterday, and today the guy brings me 14k in cash for my 2005 RKC with loads of goodies.

The guy couldn't wait to complete the transaction, and has me wondering if I gave it away.

What do you think?

I don't think so. Book around here on that bike is just over $13k. In today's economy on a used bike you'd be lucky to have gotten $12-13. I wouldn't have paid that much for it, irregardless of what goodies you have.

Don't sound like it... goodies don't hardly ever payback...

No. That's a good price. Cash. No hassles. You're done. Now, go put that money on a new one!!!

You did fine. Maybe the guy has been looking and your bike was exactly what he was looking for.

Default Don't sweat it

As long as YOU got what YOU wanted to get out of it, then don't lose any sleep over it. Just because he was excited doesn't mean very much. I was excited about buying my new SG a couple of months back, but I knew that the dealership didn't lose money on me. So, if you accomplished the goal you set out with, then let it be. Besides, even if you didn't get top dollar out of it, you made an arrangement that benefited both you and the buyer; you got rid of some winter garage art and he got a good deal on a new (to him) HD.

Not a lot of information to go on. It's a bad market, but all it takes is one dude with cash.

Right off hand, I'd say the timing was good for you. You got what you wanted and now you can start over with the new frame, 96 or 103".
