Default True duals or 2-1....

what to do what to do......I certainly like the looks of the true duals but can't make up my mind.

From what I hear we should avoid the all black systems? They look good but they ca get screwed up easily?

I'm after a Rinehart full system. Maybe a Bub7 or V&H...then again slip-ons might be just as good and cheaper.

what's the trade-offs here?

Love my V&H true duals with Rinehart's. Had just Rinehart slip ons with stock headers. The V&H with the same muffs sound a lot better

I love my black Thunderheader. The trade off for me is that it's one less thing I gotta polish, lol. Sounds damn good too!

My opinion.....TRUE DUALS......To me nothing sounds better than true duals on a harley. Some will say you lose some low end power with true duals. As for my bike, if it lost any low end I can't tell it by the seat dyno.
Or maybe I am just so impressed with how good it sounds now that I just don't notice the loss of low end.

I never considered anything other than 2-1 exhaust systems for my '08 FLHX.

Cant speak for Klockworks, but when I had my Fatboy I had the Tunderheader 2 into 1. I wouldn't consider anything else if I went to a 2 into 1 now. That pipe was awesome

I racked my brain for the last year on this very dilemma; After much procrastinating, and bugging people on here time and time again for info, I went with the V & H Pro-pipe 2-1. Great looking pipe, and quality is up there with D & D. Price was another bonus, $471 from forum sponsor Dr. V-Twin. One of the best features of the V & H pipes are how well the heat shields are made; they are over-sized for ease of installation, and chrome is beautiful. Stepped muffler gives it a nice look, and once I get my cams done, should give a nice boost in torque/low end grunt.

The biggest hang up I had was the off-balance look of a 2-1, but like everyone else says, you can't see the pipes when your riding! My Softail had pipes on one side, and also had bags and looked great. Looking back at my pictures, I forgot how awesome that bike looked. Made my mind up right then and there.

Good luck, I know how you feel.

Personally
I like the look of truduals.....
But.....
You can always go with a 2-1 and install a ghost pipe.
