Of course it's all about the look. The end result will be the same, but who would you rather been seen astride? A long-legged sexy beauty or a short fat ho? I've got 18k on my 21 setup and have had zero issues. Bike rides and handles fine.

Love my 21... I did lower the front 1" and my advice on that is this... spend the money on a good front lowering kit if you do this... the cheap $100 lowering kit from H-D sucks! I'm currently looking for better options for that now to improve the ride but I absolutley love the 21! Looks and handles great!

YES..do you ride a motorcycle??? look at my sig. pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or the pic I attached does it look like a 16??17 or 18?? read the other 10 threads on 21's with stock suspension 16's and 18's have more sidewall to cushion the ride..common sense will dictate that I'm just on denial thinking a 21 is smoother cause it ain't

I upgraded from the stock 17/16 setup to a 21/17 and I love it.

The front setup in my bike feels heavier than stock (I like it) I have 18" ape hangers and I don't even miss my previous beach bars. The ride is good, 21" fat spoked wheel in front of my '99 FLSTF, BTW.

Never saw a need for a huge wheel and no tire on a bike I ride thousands of miles, meant for comfort. You said it yourself, they take away from the ride. So why buy a touring bike and make it ride like crap? Kinda defeats the purpose, don't you think?

once again you contributed nothing having to with the thread..OP wanted PEPOLE who have 21/23 wheels opinions not more 2 year old WHY WHY WHY, why why why buy a road king and then try to make it look a flht???? and then put fringes on the grips so they whip you when your riding everybody has there own taste.. some good taste like me and some boring taste like you Jon..my interpetation of a road king is the touring bike to resemble the ol duoglides..attached is my ol roadking until I moved up, it started boring and black like yours
