lots of folks have ridden many thousands of miles on a repaired tire. i cant..... though i understand it is safe to repair and a good repair is as good as the original tire, i don't feel comfortable on a repaired tire. i've replaced a tire with as little as 2000 miles on it because of a nail.....

I plug em. Got thousands of miles on plugged tires (back) and you cant tell its there. I also carry a plugger and cartridges in case Im out and it happens. Im chicken on the fronts, but I know folks who plug them and keep drivin too. It is like oil, you're gonna get alot of opinions.

I have tire insurance so I would (and have) replace it. I wouldn't recomend a plug, but a good inside patch job will hold allright. I've patched many and never had a problem.

Check the tread depth - if it's <50% - I'd replace it. If more - recommend inner patch vs. plug (better seal).

You CAN plug it. But for the safest way, have it patched from the inside with a hot patch. I have a rear Metzler with a plug and lots of miles left on it. I did replace it with new tire but kept the pluged one to hot patch at my leasure.
BTW, be sure to plug it properly if you do it that way.
