Default $$$$$$ well spent

Many here on the forum ask questions about their bikes and of course this is the place to find answers, I have. Also after being on here a while, they like to show where they have spent their money on in their signature. But, the one thing most seem to be missing is, money spent for a service manual. A lot of answers to peoples questions could be found in the manual but, you have to spend $60 first to buy one, or. With winter soon here, this is the time to put in your request into Santa. Even for those that have limited mechanical experience, the manual will help enthusiast to understand how their bike works. There are also many books out there about the History of Harley Davidson. I would recommend the book, The big Book of Harley-Davidson by Thomas C. Bolfert.

Sure, we all know there will be questions about something and that means when you do, you will have a good baseline with which to start a thread.

A service manual is priceless for those that want to learn. And the history book is facinating because it teaches you where your current ride came from. Who knows, you might learn how to change your own oil.

And the parts manual should go hand in hand with the SM.

+ 1 on the parts manual. It is a most valuable tool to have. Diagrams/lists are often used more than the service manual...at least from my own experiance.

Not only the service manual but people should read the operating manual that came with the bike.
I have seen many posts about things that are clearly explained in the OM.

If everyone buys a service manual, and doesn't have any reason to ask for help, then what? More "can I put a tractor tire on my bike" threads? Sheeesh....

After the Service Manual it would also be great to see more members here use the forum's search function, often times that's the best way to find your answer or at least narrow down the question to something more specific....It also helps consolidate topic so it's easier to get a good range of opinions all together.

Speaking of that how do I get my Million Gigabyte Apple Turbo iPod to play surround sound music through the Harley Kardon Stereo ???? lmao
