Do vented lowers make the motor run cooler?

Seems like the opposite would be true in theory but if that is what you are finding then great.
I had cats on my 103 with the lowers and at lights idling away for a while it would get roasting hot.
I have since thrown the front pipes out in the garbage can and no longer have the problem. Now when it's colder out I wish I had the heat back. LOL !

i run the lowers closed all they time, no matter what the temp is and Ive never had any issues with the motor running hot. i do run a HD oil cooler also. i don't know if that has anything to do with it. i don't ride every day and my scoot is not my everyday transportation vehicle either. i only ride when it is clear ands sunny... I'm know call me what you will, but it is what it is... lol

Correction: The only thing I'm 100% sure of is taking off your lowers creates an increased air noise that totally covers up the 5th gear noise on an '07 Ultra with 90's/early 2000's vintage Screamin Eagle bologna cut mufflers.
