Indisputable experience.

With or without lowers, I still hear the 5th gear whine on my RKC!

Seems like the opposite would be true in theory but if that is what you are finding then great.
I had cats on my 103 with the lowers and at lights idling away for a while it would get roasting hot.
I have since thrown the front pipes out in the garbage can and no longer have the problem. Now when it's colder out I wish I had the heat back. LOL !

i run the lowers closed all they time, no matter what the temp is and Ive never had any issues with the motor running hot. i do run a HD oil cooler also. i don't know if that has anything to do with it. i don't ride every day and my scoot is not my everyday transportation vehicle either. i only ride when it is clear ands sunny... I'm know call me what you will, but it is what it is... lol

Some rider take the lowers off. They think the engine runs hotter in the summer-time with them on.

Correction: The only thing I'm 100% sure of is taking off your lowers creates an increased air noise that totally covers up the 5th gear noise on an '07 Ultra with 90's/early 2000's vintage Screamin Eagle bologna cut mufflers.

Indisputable accurately described experience. Details, details, details.

I have lowers on my SG (not shown in old sig. pic) and keep them on all year. Have a oil temp gauge in the dash, no heat issues since putting on the lowers.

I have to disagree.
I had them on my old Road Glide in very hot weather and never had any issues. They funnel plenty of air thru to the motor while moving.
