Can I swap RKC mufflers from side to side?
My left ear is ringing today after riding about 150 miles yesterday on my new bone stock 2010 Road King Classic. Kind of surprising with the stock exhaust and a full face helmet but there's some kind of percussive pop that sets my ear on fire and I need do something. My stock 2010 Dyna never gave me any trouble and the 2 EVO era FLHS models I had years ago were OK too.
The RKC has slant tips with the open side of the slant facing up. I was thinking maybe I could swap the mufflers from side to side and turn them upside down at the same time to make the slant face down. Will this work?

If I recall right, when I removed mine, there are a couple dimples in the muffler housings that line up with the swingarm, so they are specific to the left and right sides. The mount is integral to the muffler so you wouldn't be able to convert them to slash sown configuration either, unless you started cutting and welding.
I was suprised how loud my 2011 RKC was with the stock mufflers around 75mph, too. You only notice it with specific brands of full face helmets, though. A half helmet with the windshield and it's nowhere near as bad.

I have a 2010 RK (standard) and I rode yesterday with a "full face" helmet. My exhaust is getting progressively louder - I have about 3000k on mine now but I have not noticed any ringing or resonance. Could be the way that your mufflers are "cut"
Maybe try a set of stock RK(standard) mufflers without the "cut" and see if that works
Just a suggestion
