Just roadtested the Airlites today starting at 33 degrees on a 180 mile run. My feet stayed actually WARM all day using a couple pair of socks in thinsulate hiking boots, and my chaps. I have put four conchos on mine to dress them up and they really set the bike off nicely. I cut holes thru the bottoms for my low bar running/signal lights to keep visibility up.

All those block too much air to the engine.
I have a Harley set. Even on a cold day, I notice oil temps
over 230. I don't use em any more.
I got a set of those Desert Dawgs off ebay. They don't cover quite as much.
It's enough to keep the cold/rain etc off you, but the engine still gets air.
No noticable change in oil temps.
Plus they look better.
