I had a set of the HD vinyl lowers they worked with my highway pegs. They work and are great for the price.

I got a set of those Desert Dawgs off ebay. They don't cover quite as much.
It's enough to keep the cold/rain etc off you, but the engine still gets air.
No noticable change in oil temps.

Plus they look better.
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR MOTOR???
If anything, my Airlites still don't let the motor warm up enough! And that was after climbing the mountain throwing sparks up to Two Wheels Only, above Suches Ga. I actually was considering putting some plastic in front, but decided that the temps had come up enough to run it. On a cold day without the chaps, lukewarm oil was my biggest worry.

They work great. Like others said you can carry them in your saddlebag and always have them when the temperature drops.

I have a set of desert dawgs for my road star and really like them. I carry them all year long and use them if i get caught in a storm or it gets cold. i have the hard lowers on my ultra classic, but have thought about removing them in favor for some soft ones. these look pretty cool and i like the idea of the screen.

I use Desert Dawgs and I hate to admit this but I almost have to use them or something similar.

My long torso/stumpy leg build means I don't have as much leverage on the foot boards so without them my feet get blown back and/or my legs get splayed to the point of agony.

The good Lord had a sense of humor when he put me together.

Yep, my oil temp maybe was at 250 degrees with the weather temp about 67 and low speeds below 40......Maybe elevated a tad more then normal but nothing to worry about with Mobil 1.

Nothing. She runs like a swiss watch. Maybe it's not cold enough here in sunny Calif. I'm just saying, the thing runs btwn 200 & 220 on most days, but it runs hotter (230) with the HD lwrs on. It says right on the pkg NOT to use them over 50 deg. There's only a few days out of the yr it's under 50 here in Eden.
(It's all what yer used to right?)
The Desert Dawgs don't seem to have any effect on oil temps and still get the job done.
